There is a movement in Austria right now to have chimps be legally declared persons. You have to be pretty deranged to want to consider a chimp a person, but an eight month old fetus a clump of cells. Read about it here.

Queen Elizabeth is in the United States for her first state visit in sixteen years. Part of her trip will be spent commemorating the 400th anniversary of the settlement of the Jamestown colony. Read more about her trip here.

I posted a farewell to Prime Minister Blair a few days ago. Well, don't fell too bad for him. Experts are estimating he will earn up to $20 million a year after he leaves office. Today's rumor mill however is saying that Blair will forgo the big bucks to become a roving ambassador to Africa and the Middle East and to raise money for his Blair Foundation.

Finally, here is a controversial article about women who are becoming "Stepford Wives" and saving their marriages and finding happiness. Sounds a little extreme to me, but there does seem to be some truths in the article. A good read.
